Are you a fan of frilly dresses? What about dressing up in fancy clothes? Do you admire the high fashion of the Victorian and Rococo eras? Do you dream of attending tea parties while you're dressed as a princess?

If you said yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in EGL fashion. EGL, or Elegant Gothic Lolita, is a fashion subculture that originated in Japan in the 1980's. Women and men of any age dress up in fancy outfits, called a lolita coordinate. They often wear these "coords" to lolita meetup events, where they participate in any number of activities, from tea parties to axe throwing.
